Since 1997 International Doorway to Education & Athletics (IDEA) organizes an Annual International Athletic Showcase, where international student athletes from over 25 countries and coaches from more than 100 universities from the United States, meet at the biggest international athletic student recruitment event in the USA.

The program is a well organized event which holds sports competitions, academic, cultural and recreational activities where students from ages between 16 to 26 years old have the opportunity to receive scholarships from different Universities in the USA, but also to live an American cultural experience, by experiencing daily life on a university campus and learn about American culture from the inside.

The sports that are held during the showcase are soccer, tennis, basketball and golf. These sports offer male and female international students the possibility of obtaining scholarships to begin or continue their studies at recognized universities in the United States while playing the sport they enjoy the most.

During the Showcase, student athletes are guarantee to receive a minimum of 9 scholarship offers from coaches or admission representatives from over 100 United States Universities, which come to the IDEA showcase with the objective to evaluate and recruit international students for their college or university teams. Most of these institutions not only offer scholarships to the students that are seeking a four year degree, but also offer scholarships to students that require English courses, in order to reach the level of English required to be accepted into a four year degree program at colleges or universities in the United States of America.
