The Academic Scholarships Program is designed for international students who are seeking to receive an academic scholarship, in order to begin or continue studies in the United States.

Scholarships are exclusively available to IDEA candidates and are offered by more than 120 participant Institutions, which support the recruitment process of the IDEA organization. Scholarships are awarded to international students based upon each student's academic potential and willingness to get involved in the campus community by sharing ideas and experiences with other students from different parts of the world.

The academic program was created in 1997, since then, IDEA had enrolled over 6000 international students from Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia, generating only last year more than U$S 42,000,000.00 in scholarships founding’s for international students. Since its beginnings, IDEA maintains a 100% success rate in obtaining scholarships for its participants at American institutions. Each participant receives at least 9 scholarships offers from U.S. institutions (including tuition, room and meals). In the unlikely event that a participant would not receive the scholarship offers as previously described, IDEA provides a 100% refund of the amount paid by the participant.

Participants of the academic program who does not have the required English level by the American Institutions, will also received scholarships offers for intensive English courses at the participants universities called English as a Second Language (ESL). For this reason students that are not fluent in the English language, are also welcome to participate into this program. Moreover, the academic scholarships are maintained during a two year period, so students can reach the English level required by the universities and then continue with their higher education degree.
